Zero Calorie Beef Ribs!

I am inside the house and hear *snap crackle pop* and look outside and there is my grill on fire big time!!!!

We poured two sacks of flour on it and still roaring high with flames so hot it melted my tongs!

Finally some water from house did the trick (I know, a no- no) but it worked.

So here's the zero calorie recipe for BBQ baby back beef ribs that marinated all day for this one moment up in flames

Don't leave the grill *unattended*

Gotta go .. the chinese BBQ Spareribs I just ordered are ready for pickup!

You should market them!  What a hit!

(I'm laughing, but I'm sorry.  It stinks to work on something all day, and then have to watch it burn to a crisp)

Maybe you should post this on Healthy Cooking, or WL&D?  Enjoy your takeout, way to bounce back and still have a great evening!

I make some unholy good ribs.  They are delicious.  You par boil them in beer first.

What a clever title. I love it!

Peek - I taught the boyfriend the beer method over the weekend and he was a huge fan. We soaked the ribs in beer in the morning and then went hiking/biking. Came back, rubbed some grilling rub on the ribs, and put it along with the beer in tin foil. Cooked it on the grill for 30 minutes in the tin foil then took it out and grilled it the rest of the way. Super tender and delicious.

ChitChatNine - Sorry about your ribs. I like your grill though. I want one of those. And your takeout sounds so good right now.

ChitChat, so sorry for your bbq disaster.  So disheartening!

I have an awesome rib recipe for bourbon and brown sugar glazed ribs.  Definitely not posting on the healthy cooking forum.  Sounds like we need a journal with rib recipes or a posting on social forum.

Yikes!

This is very healthy cooking, but not in the usual sense.

What a bummer --- working on it all day, just to have it go up in smoke...... Healthy cooking??  Well, maybe not so if you didn't have some thing else available since we all know it's not healthy to go without eating.  Hope your take-out was as good as the ribs would have been.

OK .... AM Update:

When I went back to clean up the disaster and hose down the grill, I found melted aluminum all over the grill!  Apparently the name tag of the grill began to melt and poured all over the grill inside and out.  That was fun to remove (not).

Then the noise these unrecognizable ribs made as I pryed them off the grill was not pretty.  Crunch.  Crispy Critters.  Unrecognizable as food to eat.

Then the $ factor.

It was $35 worth of beef ribs that got destroyed

It was another $25 for 1/2 ther portion of Chinese BBQ Spareribs

Probably, the best part was the wine consumed (leftover from last week's graduation party) as we finally sat down to eat the dinner, coupled with delicious NJ Corn on the Cob & baked potatos along with Pork Fried Rice.  Nice combo in the "carb" dept., eh?!

SK123 ---- So, you like my grill.  The ? is whether it's working now.  But the hubby put out the flames when I said, "it's for real .. run quick"  ** watching him walk slowly thru the house thinking yeah yeah yeah she's over-reacting AGAIN* "  I like your idea for the tinfoil.  Will try that next time!

Peek --- Like the par boil method; I skipped it this time.

Everyone Else -- thanks for enjoying my journal :)

So guys, what's for breakfast.

OH ---- better go update my food diary LOL

Just a few calories consumed for dinner last night - here's my food diary entry:
