'Take me in your arms'

Wow.......i found this poem on the net! Thought i'd let everyone else see it also!

So now, little man, you've grown tired of grass
LSD, goofballs, cocaine and hash,
and someone, pretending to be a true friend,
said, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin."

Well honey, before you start fooling with me,
just let me inform you of how it will be.

For I will seduce you and make you my slave,
I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves.
You think you could never become a disgrace,
and end up addicted to Poppy seed waste.

So you'll start inhaling me one afternoon,
you'll take me into your arms very soon.
And once I've entered deep down in your veins,
The craving will nearly drive you insane.

You'll swindle your mother and just for a buck.
You'll turn into something vile and corrupt.
You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm,
and feel contentment when I'm in your arms.

The day, when you realize the monster you've grown,
you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone.
If you think you've got that mystical knack,
then sweetie, just try getting me off your back.

The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in knots.
The jangling nerves screaming for one more shot.
The hot chills and cold sweats, withdrawal pains,
can only be saved by my little white grains.

There's no other way, and there's no need to look,
for deep down inside you know you are hooked.
You'll desperately run to the pushers and then,
you'll welcome me back to your arms once again.

And you will return just as I foretold!
I know that you'll give me your body and soul.
You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart.
And you will be mine until, "Death Do Us Part"

This poem has been around for at least 33 years.  I used this poem in my 10th grade English Poetry Class.  We all had to recite a poem for the day and I (use to have) a photographic memory.  I read this poem only twice and totally memorized it.  At the time it scared the cr^p outta me.  I think it is still very powerful.  I first saw this in Rolling Stone magazine.  There have been many people who tried to claim this as their own. I think it is a genius poem.  I was getting ready to post this on our substance abuse forum!  (that's how I found your post).

The version I first saw was just a tad different.  (I can't believe I still rememeber this poem after all these years.
Our version went something like this:

Take Me Into Your Arms or "Miss Heroine"

So now little man you've grown tired of grass,

LSD, Acid, cocaine and hash.

And, someone pretending to be a true friend,

Said, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroine."

Well honey before you start fooling with me,

Just let me inform you of how it will be.

For I will seduce you and make you my slave,

I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves.

You think you could never become a disgrace,

And end up addicted to poppy seed waste.

You will start inhaling me one afternoon.

You'll take me into your arms very soon.

And once I have entered deep into your veins,

The crawling will nearly drive you insane.

You will need lots of money as you have been told.

For darling, I'm much more expensive than gold.

You'll swindle your mother just for a buck.

You'll turn into something vile and corrupt.

You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm.

And feel contentment when I'm in your arm.

The day when you realize the monster you've grown,

You'll solemnly swear to leave me alone.

If you think that you've got that mystical knack,

Then sweetie, try to get me off your back.

The vomit, the cramps, your guts tied in knots,

The jangling nerves screaming for just one more shot.

The hot chills and cold sweats, the withdrawl pains,

Can only be saved by my little white grains.

There's no other way and there's no need to look,

For deep inside you will know you are hooked.

You'll desperately run to the pusher and then,

You'll welcome me back in your arms once again.

And when you return, just as I have foretold,

I know you will give me your body and soul.

You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart,

And you will be mine till, "DEATH DO US PART."

All my women had attitudes like that and I got them out of my life.
This is just one more sweet talkin lie.
Just another hurdle
a small bit of rife
she never met any one like me.
