It's been a whirlwind of activities around here. March was my birthday and Lauren's birthday, plus Easter. We celebrated my birthday with a quick trip to the beach (without the girls). Got my first sunburn in over 3 years. We didn't really celebrate Lauren's birthday until after Easter. She had a ball at the local park with some of the kids from the church. They were all sweet and had a good time.
It took 3 photo shoots to get any pictures of the girls together. A friend of ours did some in downtown Prattville (see my Photos). And then Sears did a session where the girls were not wanting to get near each other. FINALLY on the third try we got a few of them that are pretty good....all things considered. They happen to be wearing new dresses purchased moments before the photo shoot that they themselves picked out.
April and May brought travels for both me and hubby. We went to two conferences in Las Vegas. I can now say that I've been to Vegas, seen the big hole in the ground known as the Grand Canyon and stayed on the strip at the Mandalay Bay...also at the Las Vegas Hilton. It was a good trip, but I was sorely missing my girls.
Now we're back in Alabama doing the usual things. We have another trip planned at the end of the month to take the girls to the beach. It'll be their first trip to the beach, so this ought to be interesting.
Lauren's eczema has cleared up considerably. I think some of that is due to a vitamin we're giving her called Ambrotose from Mannatech. She's doing quite well compared to just before Easter when she resembled a piece of sandpaper. She still has some allergies to contend with, but at this moment, things are definitely much better.
Both of our girls are too smart for their own good. They are both enjoying reading (which mommy and daddy are so proud of) and watching their Disney movies. They will be attending Mom's Day Out this summer and next fall start a 3-day Mom's Day Out program. Kathryn starts school in the fall of 2009, Lauren follows in the fall of 2010. My how time flies. They grow up so fast.
