We went in to be induced at 7am, but I was already having steady contractions.  They waited until closer to 9am to start the pitocin.  By 4:30pm I was in agony and around 5:45 they gave me a spinal block.  Baby arrived at 6:26pm weighing 9-pounds, 8-ounces!  Holy cow!  Head crowned, but shoulders were not coming.  The doctor actually had to reach in, grab and arm and pull the baby out while the nurse was on top of me shoving the other shoulder (pushing on my belly) under my pubic bone.  Baby almost didn't come out!!

Anyway - baby Maria Jean is here now.  She had x-rays taken of her bruised arm, but it's not broken.  She's getting Tylenol in the nursery to alleviate her discomfort.  She's the biggest baby here, and they say she's the biggest they've seen in some time.
