Hi Andy,

So sorry you are feeling so tough.  I can really relate to what you are going through as I have severe asthma along with emphysema.  I was just given 3-6 months to live.

Have you had your blood gases checked.  With the high amount of oxygen you are needing, its possible you are getting to
much carbon dioxide.   I am at 3 liters and on a bipap unit.      If you smoke, you need to stop if you don't, you need to find out what is causing it and then take corrective action.   Are you using a nebulizer.  The best solution I have found is Xopenex.  Its 3X the normal albuterol or performist.in effectiveness.     Find a pulmonologist that you can work with and then religiously follow his or her guidance.  You will be happy again and it may stop some of those trips to emergency room.   If you go to often to
the emergency room, staff will start looking at you as a hypochondriac or start viewing it as severe anxiety rather then just asthma.   Good Luck  but right now call 911 as death could be emminent if you don't.    Shame on those doctors that didn't give you a 2nd thought.  When they make 190.000 to 500,000 annually you would think they could be more helpful and more
compassionate.  Next time you decide to have an asthma attack have it on the closest golf course where you doctor is really on the ball.

Take care,   Radar401
