what frustrates you and how do you deal with it?

ok so im feeling frustrated with my almost 10 yr old son, i hear its a boy thing but man o man, he doesnt hear half of what i say, he forgets what i told him to do because that toy landed in his peripheral vision along the way, and has all the answers to life already.

im frustrated with dh being gone, but he will be home in just over a week.  i have done a dam.n good job of caring for everything all by my self i must say, but today i could sit in a hot tub without kids, have a glass of wine and eat cookie dough till i pop, then cry about the cookie dough and how much i miss the kids and then take a nap haha.

am i the only one that gets kinday crazy like this???
but instead of doing all that, i put the baby down for a nap, left son to watch tv, and im venting to you all about my day. what do you do to relieve the pressures?

I had a meltdown a couple of weeks ago at work. I think it was just a build up of things. My brother back in Afghanistan, my mom's cancer, dad's cancer, emo stepdaughter...I lost it...totally lost it on my boss. Cried, screamed, cursed...coworkers were banding together and quietly discussing whether they should intervene or not. And then I relapsed...I bummed a couple smokes from someone. I didn't completely fall off the wagon and buy a pack, but I still felt guilty.

But, I'm over now!

im so sorry your mom and dad both have cancer? my god that is way too much for one family!  i tell you days like today make me want a cig and its been forever since i have had one, just what i did for years when stressed i guess.

we are watching e.t. and everyone seems happy now :)

Oh that was my long answer to your short question- I scream, cry, curse, and smoke!!! That's what I do to relieve the pressures! And talk to you girls, of course. =)

When I get totally stressed I take a walk. Even if no one is around to watch Aspen for 10 minutes I'll put her in her baby bjorn and just get some fresh air. When she's not with me I quickly defuse and want to get home to her... but when she is with me she usually gets lazy because of the sun and takes a nap. :)

Good point- I do have some "healthy" habits to relieve stress. I walk, take Dylan outside and we swing, journal, meditate, etc. In fact, I need to do those things more than the yelling, cursing, and smoking!

When I get stressed I leave the baby with DH and go upstairs...usually to cry quickly...then return somewhat refreshed.  I really feel for you since your hubby is gone you do not have the additional pair of hands around to do a hand off situation. So my suggestion is when DH returns, spend some good quality time with him, then pass the baby and son off and go get pampered.  Have a spa day with a fat glass of wine and get plesantly tipsy!  You deserve it!
