ok so maybe it was an Ed Jones commercial for stocks you know.......the doc tells the guy..."now make and incision between the 3 and fouth rib.." and the guy says "shouldn't you be doing this??"
so I finally got a doc to look at the foot, and it is broke twice..like someone took a ginsu and hacked on the diagonal....chop chop
OK, maybe I'm just behind the times, but I stubbled my toe in the middle of the night... on my new shower chair that hubby kept taking out of the shower cause he didn't like it..
and I fractured the toe total through, and hit it AGAIN 2 nights later when lovey hubby threw it in my midnight path again......I guess cause he thought I exagerated and my toe wasn't broken...who knows why...
and so by day 3 I can't walk at all and called the doc to say my toe at least...maybe more was broke..and the whole top was black from some busted vessel...and still I had to wait 8 days to get in and seen......anyway...
then the xray comes back, and some nurse calls and says just tape it up yourself.
I asked her where it was broken and how...she read the report.but couldn't understand "orthepedic radiology lingo" well enough to explain it ...and was too embarrased to admit that and just read the report to me when I told her I would understand it.....
frustrating...turns out it was a complete diagonal double fracture.
so I called the orthopedist office,,,and they say the same thing...you don't need surgery...just have your doc tape it..
to which I said, it has already taken her 2 weeks to get me to this point...shall I let it heal unset for another week or 2??
anyway...with diebetes and on chemo do I really need a secondary infection I asked?
What are these folks thinking.?? They said just tape it up and be glad you don't need surgery.
well yes, I'm glad....but not to be setting my own bones!!!!!
finally I called a smaller practice, and they saw me, re-xrayed the foot to make sure some healing was occuring (3 weeks after the break...but hey...it is nice to know....)and finally gave me a sandal to wear that protects the foot....so I wouldn't hurt it again...
which had happened twice more already (once thanks to hubby throwing my shower chair in my midnight path again....once just from stepping on a blanket)
sheezh.......but at least, someone saw me, and pretended to do some doctoring....
maybe I'm just old fashioned but I always thought doctors set bones, not the patients!!
silly me.
