Ups and downs. For a minute, I started feeding into the 'downs' but a very wise man said to me "treatment is not for sissies". And helped me see if I had enough courage to start tx – I have enough courage to deal with what goes with it. Of course, he said this in a loving, kind, and caring way – kind of.
Anyway, that felt like a bucket of cold water in my face – it was what I needed to hear. And with the help of some others I have a completely new attitude about dealing with this.
So now when one of those little sides 'pop up' I look at it for what it is a 'Side Effect' rather than the ‘End of My World’. The medicine does what the medicine does and I have to do my part. That keeps it simple instead of “OMG This is the BIG ONE!” I love this stuff –
Sides this week come and go.
My appetite in the morning has decreased - the look of food makes me want to ... yuck! But I eat it anyway - and take the Riba. The morning dose of Riba doesn't really bother me.
The second dose is beginning to create some strange happenings. Like the tip of my tongue will tingle and right where it tingles a small white 'ulcer/pimple' will rise up on it and the next second (literally) it's gone. That's happened for the past 3 days.
My throat many times - feels itchy – like someone sprinkled red pepper down it.
The nausea has increased some - but I just keep drinking my water and it helps.
I have a ‘loud’ choking cough that comes and goes – I didn’t have one prior to tx.
I'm not as tired as I was in the beginning of the week - actually I have energy. But I try to make sure I get a least 7 hours of sleep and rest when I need to and sometimes when I don’t!
I'm just a little more teary and sad but I try not to feed into that - I distract myself anyway I can - until it passes.
I don't have headaches it's more like mild pressure that moves around my head and above my eyes – it doesn’t bother me enough to take anything.
Tonight I had a red itchy rash just appear across the middle of my tummy - it stayed for about an hour and left
My eyes itch after I take the Riba – more so in the morning - I continue to use the Systane and it takes care of that.
I’ve taken Salmon Oil for years it helps with my memory, concentration etc. I increased the dose because my concentration is off – a lot - especially when I drive. The Salmon Oil helps but the effect of it isn’t as long as it was before tx.
That’s the short of it - I see my psych dr Friday morning and if all is well with my lab work - take my second injection that night.
