So, I would find it hard to believe that anyone on this site was unaware of my journal, as it was 500+ posts deep. I must say that I was very proud of that journal, and of most of the people who stood up in the name of tolerance and acceptance. But, it appears that perhaps my journal was a bit too much for some, and it was deleted today, without my knowledge. I am so very upset about this. I put a lot into it, and loved watching the responses pour in. it showed me that there was still some hope that some people fought for what was decent and right in this world. i do plan on reposting the exct same journal, because that is my opinion, based on what I have experienced and my relationship with my brother, and I dont find my original journal post to be offensive. I also just wanted to add, that if there were some people that participated in my journal that felt the need to report any comments, and ultimately had a hand in its deletion, then I would suggest perhaps partaking in that little thing we call "getting a life". Thank you!

Also.... if people are offended by your journal topic or what was written in it etc. etc. etc. they dont HAVE to read it!

apparently, there are certain people who are well known for having comments/journals deleted when they don't like what they read and/or it doesn't match up to their personal opinion. I think its unfair to you...ziggy'sgirl...becasue it is your journal, its not a thread on one of the forums and you should be able to express your opinions freely, whether those certain people like it or not.

The journal was removed because the comments were starting to get personal as well as upsetting to a lot of members. The journal was live for several days, and we were fine with it while the back and forth was healthy and done respectfully. By the end, this was no longer the case and it needed to be removed.

I am now even more upset then before. i reposted my journal to start fresh, so people could see and hear my opinion, because it means so much to me. Well, even with zero comments on it, they deleted it. I think this is very discouraging. I am almost at a loss for words at how wrong that is. Thank you to everyone for the support though,I have gotten a lot of support throughout this, and even though my journal was a hot topic, I never expected the reaction to it that I got, and so many people commended me, i just want it clear that my intention was and will remain to stand up for the people who deserve it. The people who get their rights taken away, because some people decide that "freedom" should only apply when you play by their rules.

Well I am glad you posted that journal. Your brother is very lucky to have a caring supportive sister such as yourself! I am ending this post with a saying made famous by Mel Gibson in Braveheart...."FREEDOM"! If only he practice what he preaches as well! LOL!

I can't believe they deleted the other one with no comments.

Contact MH and ask them to send you your journal via e-mail, so you can at least have it for your personal use.

that is true. its YOUR VOICE!!! I can't believe it was deleted. if so many ppl didnt like what was said, why keep reading it? I said my peace and left it at that. [ I was with you btw :)] Life in general can get personal, but we dont have a delete button for that!!!! people should know by now, things get personal!

so i guess when the bible quoters got out numbered and couldnt push thier opinions on us they complained to a higher power MED HELP..... LOL..... that was how they solved thier poroblem with our thought they just hit delete. must be gone now?? HUH!!!

I didn't get to read the last hour of it. When I left there wasn't anything going on.

If people get their panties all tied in a knot from reading someones journal-THEY SHOULD NOT READ IT. I don't think it should have been deleted either. There have been plenty of "heated" conversations posted, there was no need for yours to disappear.

I'm really sorry to hear about this.  Seriously.  I love the debate, reading different people viewpoints, and hearing where other people are coming from.  But apparently not everyone does.

No matter peoples opinion on the journal, it was very well written, and I thought most people were pretty respectful about "arguing" their side of things. Its unfortunate if anybody was offended by it, but, like you said, they certainly didn't have to read it. Good for you for posting on such a topic, and good for you for standing by your brother like you do. Hopefully some day all forms of discrimination are completely eliminated.

I think your origional journal was very interesting, shocked me how small minded alot of people are.

Bible this Bible that; the Bible is a book of STORIES for goodness sake, it's role is to teach us from the stories how to be good to our fellow mankind, it's not a text book or instruction manual on how to live life, if it were it would have been discarded along time ago, most text books are obsolete after 5 years after which they need to be updated with modern day findings.

To remove your journal was unecessary and uncalled for. As far as I am concerned "telling tales" is pathetic.

I stopped really reading about half way through but I would try to read the last few comments to see if anyone was saying anything different. It was so big that it took a few minutes to appear on the page. I'm actually surprised that medhelp was reading it. I couldn't keep up with everyone's comments but it was cool to see how many people there are on medhelp that notice a journal. I wonder if any people changed their opinions. Mine are still the same.

Wow! I haven't read it since the other day, but I was also amazed by how much it got people's attention. This is YOUR journal , not a forum discussion board and I agree that if people were upset by it then they shouldn't have read it. But instead some people have to resort to acting like children and 'tattle' because something they didn't like happened. I don't like girls being rapped, or beaten, innocent people dying, people who get away with murder etc...Will MedHelp 'delete' those people and things as well?!? I'm sorry to ramble, but I'm actually quite pissed by this and it isn't even MY journal. If any one has anything they wish to say to me, feel free to send me the message...I don't have to dignify myself or prove myself to any one with answers b/c after all this is a 'free country' right?!?

I can't believe this. It's your Journal. Isn't that what it's there for????? I never got to read it, but I believe that we should be allowed to post what ever we want in our Journals. I mean a post I understand, but not your Journal. I am very disapointed in MH!!!!!

It serves you right for posting YOUR opinion in YOUR journal.
I think we should all request a guideline to what our journals SHOULD contain.
I have been under the impression that we were to write about our lives and our opinions but obviously we were mistaken.
This is nazi comparable in censorship, its no longer what the post was about but the fact that we apparently no longer have a right to an opinion on this opinion forum.

Like peekawho said i believe my next journal is going to be about my love for rainbows and bunnies...not discriminate against any other animal i just particularly like bunnies... Well i suppose i could contain one other animal for diversity...no im sure bunnies will be fine.

And by the way, Ziggy. I am so dang proud to have a friend that despite her upbringing can see through to the heart. Your brother is so very lucky to have a sister like you and MH is so very lucky to have a member like you as well. Whether they realize this or not, I certainly do.

Andi- thank you so much for that. It really means a lot to me. I wish that medhelp would let me repost my journal. They said that reposting it will just serve to start the "fights" again. I thought my journal was a safe place to share my opnions on something that meant something to me, and I feel as though MH has taken that away from me by going so far as deleting an entry with no comments on it. I m currently thinking of a different way to write the same type of thing about my feelings, and it will be clear that the entry is for people who would like to discuss matters on a legal and realistic basis.

You can ask, but you know what will happen. My advice, would be to post your thoughts and possibly just make it visible to friends. Or go for broke again, girl. I got your back. Maybe 5 years is long enough here. If they want to boot a member who has been here that long over this, so be it.

I never commented on your original journal entry, but I want you to know that I support you and your opinion. For the record, my Gay uncle and his partner are my girls Godparents. :) Yes, this actually happened in a Christian Church, and no one batted an eye.
