Schizophrenia

Today i saw a psychologist, he confirmed my exam that i took in July, and said i have schizophrenia. I am going to keep my chin up instead of falling apart :) -scotty

What exactly is schizophrenia? And what are the symptoms? Can your doctor prescribe medications to help you?

I take pills and attend group therapy, symptoms include positive and negative traits, for example I hear voices in my head, and i have delusions and hallucinations etc.

Most people with schizophrenia can control it through medications and therapy.

That's good that you're able to keep your chin up, I know from personal experience just how devastating of a disease Schizophrenia can be and then it's even harder because people without it don't understand so it's like you're mostly alone. I always say there's no point in freaking out about something because it only makes the situation worse. Well look at the bright side, at least it makes life more interesting with the hallucinations and what not.
