I have had people asking about my taper so here it is.
My taper: I started at 120mg oxycontin 3x a day and 30mg norco 3x a day.
I was able to completely stop the norco at once and continued with the oxy 120 3x a day for 1 month.
I then tapered the oxy to 80mg 3x a day. I continued that for 1 month.
               I then tapered to 40mg oxy 3x a day for 1 month.
               I then tapered to 20mg oxy 3x a day for 1 month.
               Then  10mg oxy 3x a day for 1 month.
I then switched back to the norco 1 10mg pill 3x a day until my body was use to it. about 3-4 days.
Then I started cutting the pills in half and took 1/2 pill 4x a day for about 3-4 days.
Then 1/2 pill 3x a day for about 3-4 days.
Then 1/2 pill 2x a day for about 3-4 days.
Then I cut the half pills in half to make 1/4 norco pills and took 1/4 pill 2x a day.
At that point I actually started forgetting to take my first 1/4 norco dose in the morning and I stopped taking it.
I continued with the evening dose of 1/4 pill before bed time for 5 days.
At that point I stopped all together with the last evening dose wednesday nite
.
For this to work you absolutely have to want to quit. It would also be better if you have someone to give you the pills so the temptation wont be able to be fed.

Now there is a withdrawal period between each taper but it was minimal with symptoms of headache, loss of appetite and a restless nites sleep. During each taper I only had 1 restless nite of sleep and 1 day of a headache and 1 day of loss of appetite. I did have the mental part of withdrawal for about 3 days but also was minimal.
Now please keep in mind that this is what worked for me and everyone is different.
I compare it to what the suboxin treatment is kind of like. Letting the drug to slowly release out of your body so your body doesnt go thru instant hard withdrawals. Rather it lets your body adjust to each taper so the last taper isnt so harsh. You go thru a handful of mild withdrawals during the process but you can function and work during the whole process. The same thing that sub advertises as being able to do only the way I did it doesnt require switching to a more powerful drug.
I hope this helps other people out there with there addiction and give them another option for treatment.
