Hiatal hernia caused by old broken rib?

I just finished the prevpac triple therpy for H. Pylori 3 days ago. The burning sensation on my whole left side has came back. From the ECG I was told I also have a medium size haitus hernia and an irregular z line. I broke a left rib about two years ago, could this be the reason for more pain and a reason that I should get the hernia repaired.
