Well this day ends the first migraine I've ever experienced. There was a point in the middle of the night that I thought I would die because my head was going to explode from pain. I cried, but crying hurt because I was exerting energy from my brain.
It was terrifying, because I had no clue really what was wrong with me. It really started Sunday. I had a mild-moderate headache. Thought it was the weather changes, which causes me to get all funky anyways. I had to go downtown to take photos for class, and as the night went on the headache go worse. I started to get blurry eyed, which I blamed on needing my glasses, and my friend thought it was from looking through the viewer of the camera.
On my way home on the lightrail, the lights hurt. I just kept my eyes closed, and of course I wanted to knock out the cow talking loudly in the seats next to me. i just felt terrible, and thought maybe I was getting the flu, even though I had no other symptoms.
The second I got home I took my Ambien and went to bed, by this time, even the thought of moving or being awake seemed feesable.
I guess the pain grew worse during my sleep, because I dreamt that someone kept hitting my head with a hammer. Odd I know. I woke at about 2:45am with such a terrible pain in my head that I was screaming out. I wanted to call someone, I didn't know who. I couldn't open my eyes, even though the only light in the room was a pinhole flashing from my computer. I somehow managed to text my roommate that I needed him, and thank god he wasn't sleeping well that night because he came in and checked on me.
He sat with me, and rubbed my head until I fell back asleep. I was soo thankful I had someone there. I had to call off of work, and that of course did not sit well, but I had to be up at 3:45am, and there was no way that would work.
I slept on and off all day Monday. Still with a terrible headache. I was so afraid to take anything. I have no clue why, but I just could not. I finally made an appointment with the doctor, after suffering with the head ache for nearly 15 hours.
She of course told me it was a migraine, and she gave my Maxalt, which I took immediately, and it helped immensely.
Now is the fun of figuring out why I am getting these migraine, and how to help myself in the future from getting them at all.
