this morning i had my pre op, everything went fine, my consultant has finally answered by questions, i am due to have a thyroid lobectomy surgery on friday 9th October 09. i am quite nervous and slighty worried about the outcome. i just hope they dnt find cancer on the pathologist report.

i am quite gutted that the consultant said that they will not do a frozen section whilst i am on the operating table, it will be sent off aftawards, also they said they wnt check my left thyroid or the lymph nodes whilst in surgery which is rubbish as if the pathologist reports say that it is canncer i will have to ungro anther surgery.

i am due to go in a day before and my discharge date for leaving the hospital is monday 12th, so they can monitor my bloods etc whilst in the hospital, not looking forward to it but has to be done.

Your story sounds very similar to mine.  I just had a thyroid lobectomy of the left side two weeks ago, I had a large solid, solitary, vascular nodule that measured 2 cm.  I have had all of the same symptoms that you just described, but my TSH and thyroid hormone levels were in the normal range.  The pathology came back showing no signs of cancer.  What is the end of your thyroid story?  Has everything resolved?  Are you still experiencing those same symptoms still? or did you get over them?
