If you have not already done so, please consider joining the Love/Avon Army of Women (armyofwomen.org).

This is an initiative to recruit 1,000,000 women (308,731 have already signed up as of today) of every age and ethnicity, INCLUDING BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS AND WOMEN AT HIGH RISK FOR THE DISEASE, to partner with breast cancer researchers and directly participate in research to attempt to eradicate breast cancer, and to challenge the scientific community to expand its current focus to include breast cancer prevention research conducted on healthy women.

If you decide to sign up (after thoroughly checking out the Web site, reading  the  Q&As, the privacy protection policy, etc., of course), you will be sent e-mails inviting you to participate in selected research studies. For example, UCLA researchers studying how diet and exercise habits affect breast cancer needed 20 more participants, and within 12 hours of contacting the Army of Women, more than 125 women volunteered. Some studies might require you to complete a questionnaire, while others might need a sample of blood, urine, saliva, breast fluid, or breast tissue. Some studies might be clinical trials testing a new detection  marker or drug. (YOU CAN REFUSE ANY OR ALL INVITATIONS.)

I signed up in honor of a loved one who is fighting breast cancer, as well as in the hope that I might contribute in some small way to a future with less breast cancer for women as a whole...

Thank you for posting this, and I certainly do not understand why it disappeared from the forum. (As soon as my mail server recovers I will send you something else that I need to find first)

Thanks, BB, you are really contributing a lot, and ... Kat

This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! This was removed by the moderators from a post on BC forum? OMG.. this is exactly what it is all about! This needs to be re-activated as a post for all to read and decide upon.

I'll be checking this out myself! We've all got to participate to get something done for all women and men regarding breast cancer!

Great job!
