Thanks Sandy.  Having been through 3 hurricanes, one of them a category 5 (Luis in '95, St. Maarten), I NEVER want to experience wind like that again.  We've had so many watches and warnings lately...scary!

Let's just all hope this season is a mild one ..Now, a nice small tropical storm wouldn't be awful. But that's it..

Been down to the shelter 3 times already  this Spring,  Very tired of all this rain and flooding  worst here since 93.  don't want it to mess up my big week end coming up, 60th class reunion,  don't think any of us "old foggies" can swim anymore . Last nights warning took out the electricity for 4 hours, too wet to mow, may have to bale my grass when it gets dry enough.

Tornados scare the **** out of me too. Like you we have had so many watches and warnings in just the last 2 weeks it is unreal. Thankfully it has not been near as bad as it could be. Right now, flooding is the main concern. The places I have been that are flooding is the worst that I can ever remember seeing it. I keep thinking that the rain has got to let up sometime.

My parents were from Missouri and Kansas and they have fiercesome tornados.  We used to go down to the storm cellar at my grandmothers house and watch them through these tiny windows that are just at ground level.  I wish I had a picture, but one time we saw the trashcans that had been put out doing a whirling dervish up and down the street.  It wasn't the helter skelter of a tornado, it was like a choreographed trash can dance.  I have never been afraid of strong storms or tornados, now hurricanes...that's a different story.  Tornados can hit the house next door and not even do wind damage to yours, but a  hurricane takes out everything in it's path.  We had a tornado several years back and it hit Hendersonville pretty hard. This couple with 2 young kids lost everything and the mom broke her back trying to shield the children.  Extreme Makeover built them a new house and it was extraordinary.  Cory donated some furniture for the house and we went up and helped.
The south has their peak tornado season in April and May, but you all up there are just now starting your season and I wish you all the best in surviving this time of the year.  As my daughter used to say "don't be ascared".
