My first day to start my little journey into better health and the weather was sunny and in the 70s. Is there a God or what? So Shasta, my English Sheepdog, and I started the walk at 3pm and ventured out into the byways of my suburb neighborhood.
It was quiet, shocking, since I would have imagined hoards of little children already out of school and playing in the sun on a beautiful day such as this.
We walked quite briskly, until close to being home, when Shasta started slowing down. I would imagine wear a heavy fur jacket could slow a dog down.
But then we encountered a few little boys playing ball, and they asked to pet Shasta, who whimpered with delight; and fibbed to them, saying no one loved her and they were the only people on earth who had bothered to give her much needed attention.
Bouyed by this showering of love, Shasta came back to life, our pace picked back up and we got back home around 4pm.
Was a good start for both me and Shasta!.
