I have disappeared

Nov 06, 2009 03:13PM - 8 comments

Fatigue, Fatigue and more Fatigue.  That is all my life is at this moment.

I have disappeared and all that is left is a walking zombie.  This stuff is really interfering with my life.

I can't think.  I can't talk.  i am clumsy beyond belief. I am a danger in the kitchen.

I burnt my toast.  I do mean burnt.  It was flaming.  Those beautiful tongs I bought to fry my chicken are very handy at getting the toast from the oven out the door while it is still flaming....lol

Then I was trying to fix the honey something to eat.  I have those stove cover burners or I should say I had.  I stacked them on one burner.  That means there were three burners without them and I managed to turn on the one burner that did.  Here I am with the tongs again saying, quiet loudly (oxymoron) don't worry honey I burnt something on the stove.  I got it under control as i try to take the smoldering tins out the door behind his back.

Don't worry I do have a fire extinguisher.  I am saving it for the big one.  ;0)

Okay I am going to move around before honey comes home and finds me asleep on the desk.

I be back when I wake up.  take care guys.

So sorry to hear of the disabling fatigue. Careful in the kitchen!  I, too, am getting clumsy in the kitchen but not with the stove or toaster. My issue is with the knife.  Good thing hubby never got around to sharpening them as I asked 6 months ago.  Of , course he would claim "he knew " and was trying to save me , LOL.

Please be careful!! Sending rejuvenating thoughts and vibes your way!!!

Feel better!

Hugs,

Ren

Terry,

You sound like you are living MY life right now.  I cannot manage to stay awake any longer than a few hours, but also can not get to sleep at night.  Then this causes all the daytime fatigue.

My Neuro and I have talked about the fatigue.  It is crushing.  She wants me to start Provigil.  I am not sure about it, since I have high blood pressure.  I heard that can be a side effect.  Increased pressure.

Don't burn anything more, honey.  The neighbors will call the fire department.

I hope you feel better soon, but I know exactly how you are feeling.  If I really thought I could sleep 20 hours a day, I would.  My domestic partner does not understand in the least.  He never actually calls me lazy, but he talks around that word, everytime I manage to slide out of bed.

I really do not know where this fatigue is coming from.  This has been the worst bout of it, than I have suffered in 14 years of an MS diagnosis.  If I didn't have to take pills twice a day, or pain medication every 4-6 hours, I may sleep straight through that 20 hours.  I am sure you know what I am talking about.

I feel for you honey.  Sending you any extra strength I have...your way.  It's not much, but I'm trying.

Bunches of love and hugs,
Heather

Terry,

You haven't disappeared.  Your wonderful self is shining in those witty words you used to describe the pretty miserable state you find yourself in.  Fatigue s****.

You reached out through your fatigue and made me smile with your description of what many of us experience (I burned up my Shadow Iris burner covers, in my 3rd floor apartment), and that you could write about so well.

I took a full Provigil today, so I'll send you some of my extra energy, plus a big hug.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.  I hate the bone-crushing fatigue.  Provigil has really helped me.  Without it, I cannot function.  Can you and your honey go out to eat for a while until this fatigue lets up some?  I can't cook a lot these days--I haven't the energy.  I've had to let some things go, and that was one of them.

One thing I've done is to rearrange the kitchen so that things were more accessible though when I do cook.  I also put in a padded bar stool to sit in, so that I'm in the kitchen off my feet and close to the food that I'm cooking to prevent mishaps.  Don't wear long sleeved shirts when your close to the stove, though.

I feel for you.  I know the exact feeling.  I used to fall asleep in the car at the stop lights on my way to work, and drool out of the side of mouth as I sat at my computer during my conference periods at school!  Thank goodness for Provigil is all I can say.  It has been a life saver.

Thank you guys for your support.  The hugs were nice too.  ;0)

I know the fatigue is something most of us go through.  I was not complaining.  I just didn't want everyone to think I had disappeared with no intention of returning.  I really enjoy talking with you guys and reading all the posts.

I have been reading them just not responding because I am afraid I will say something I shouldn't because I am in a brain fog.  So I have tried to keep up with everyone.  I just don't remember most of it ....lol

I promise to be more careful.  It is just so dang easy to walk away from something and forget it.  I used to use a timer to remind me to ck things.  I set one the other day but I couldn't remember what I was supposed to ck.  That was a hoot.

Take care.  I have tried to answer some of my mail and posts etc this morning.  Now I am in a free fail and heading toward a full blown crash.  So I have to get moving or lay down.  One of the two.  i choose to move as long as i can.

Thank you guys again.  You are a great bunch.

Terry,

Sounds like you are pulling some of the same things in the kitchen I do all of the time. One time I was making home made french fries for dinner. When all of a sounden I heard my daughter shouting at me. I was just inches away from sticking my bare hand into the hot oil to check if the next batch of fries were done or not. I do NOT make frenchfries any more. :)

I'm also always forgeting to put food away in the fridge or to turn off a burner or oven after I have finshed making something. And then there are the times I will put something away after shopping in the wrong place.

I hope you will be feeling better soon!

Dennis
