More findings...

So this is where we are:

1) Nate has a sinus "disease." So bad that the radiologist called Dr. Paul as soon as he saw it. He has a "mucus seal" and cyst. It could also have a fungal infection which could be causing many of his fatigue issues. (Not guaranteed, but something they want to look at further.) This may require surgery, drainage or other procedure.

Apparently fungal cysts can be very dangerous b/c they start to kill the tissues around it. In fact, if left unchecked can be fatal. Hopefully they will be removing it on Nov 19.

2) Neck - neuro and Dr. Paul are examining post-concussion issues related to the loss of the curve and muscle/tissue damage. Focus here will be physical rehab and/or injections and/or surgery. (Nate's curve is not only gone, his neck actually curves the wrong way when he bends his neck forward or backward.)

3) Lower back - pinched disc b/t C4 and C5; could be causing leg weakness and pains in left abdomen area. Also will be examined by Physical Rehab group.

4) Possible nerve pinch above left hip.

5) Sleeping issues - paresthesia (muscle spasms). This could be indicative of other problems. Neuro tests and sleep consult to examine issue further.

Hi you guys, good to hear an update on Nate...sounds hopeful for a resolution to his suffering.   No wonder he has felt so unwell!!!  He has issues in several areas that had to be sorted out, huh.  I am prayerful that this is the first solid step to his complete recovery.

Hello to both of you

Thank you for taking time to update, you must be exhausted...

The experts at Mayo have given you a great deal of information-which could be quite overwhelming. Remember to take things at a pace which *you* are comfortable with...  though it is early days it seems you have cooperation and respect from  those involved with the case-all positive

Sending support.
