I discovered that Windows 7 is NOT for me.  :(

Well, I now have my Windows 7 professional, and along with it, a host of headaches. LOL.

I use the e-mail program Incredimail, and it is NOT compatible, so, luckily my version has the "virtual XP" mode and I can use it there, otherwise, I would have lost about 6 years of saved items, and such. Also, Outlook Express is NOT compatible either and you can not use it at all.

When I upgraded, I lost a lot of my fonts, and other things that I had to download.

On the good side, there are lots of "fru-fru" with it, meaning 3-D Wallpaper, etc, but, it requires an extra powerful video card, there are all kinds of things you can do, but, for me, well, if I had it to do over again, I would not. But, too late now, I have it, so, I best start learning it.

So, here is my advice to anyone thinking about it. If you basically are doing well with your current Operating system, know it well, and there are no glitches in it, by all means, do NOT change, if you do, make darn sure you have a good tech how can do it for you, mine is good, and I am still finding things out that I need to download again, and also make sure your peripheral hardware is compatible, such as the printer.

If I can be of any help, I will be happy to, I have some good manuals on it, and I am learning too, so it helps to answer questions.

Back to work. Ugh, my poor aching head.

Hello,

Don't forget to back up those six years of emails. You never know when your hard disk is going to through a fit :)

Hi~ Today has been a lot better, I am learning more about programs, and commands, and it does not seem as over-whelming to me. It is just that it is so entirely different, and the past week, I had a bad cold, so, I am not as alert as I should be. LOL, poor excuse, better than none.

I will say that Wins7 sure is smooth and even if you have a bunch of windows open, you can't tell it, for the most part, I like it, it is mainly now learning it. It is not the machines fault, but the operators, LOL. To make sure all works well, my tech, Evan, installed a 64 bit Intel processor, an ASUS mother board that is capable of handling 16 gigs of memory, I now have 4 gigs, it is really fast. For the 3-D Backgrounds and animations, he put in a powered Video card, wow, they look like they will jump right out at you. He did other "tweaks" also. I just wish I could figure out how to make the fonts larger, man, I need a magnifying glass for Incredimail, and most other sites as well, even making them larger through the control panel did not do too well. Oh well, I guess it all comes with time.

We are having rain today and the sky is really gray, but, no snow, the mountains might get some, but not here.

Well, back to some more exploring. Have a lovely Sunday and a great week.

Huggers to all
Susie
