Had a good weekend

Nov 08, 2009 06:25PM - 3 comments

It is Sunday night and I have had a good weekend. I was able to clean most of my house and go grocery shopping painfree. I am trying not get too excited but I went to the grocery store and pet store this morning and only experienced a little discomfort...woohoo. I didn't need to sit down once. I am also only taking my pain meds every 6-8 hours instead of every 4 hours. Because of this I have held off using the duregesic pain patches. I am hoping this means the turmors are shrinking and the chemo is working.GO CarboPlatin...kicks some cancer butt!!!!! I still need to clean a bathroom and do laundry but I loved being able to clean the rest of my house myself. It is nice to do some of the things I use to do...even though it takes me longer..it is nice to be able to do them. As I write this I am chuckling...a couple years ago this would not have constituted a good weekend ;) I am hoping my cell counts are good tomorrow...don't want another neulasta shot...but I will deal with that tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Julie

Hey, you're going to be exhausted from all the work you're doing.  Slow down a little, why don't you?  If you're painfree, maybe you can do a more relaxing activity and enjoy that.  The work will still be there tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow.  Not that you shouldn't do something every day to whittle down the list, but please don't knock yourself out.

Havw a good week!!!

It is funny what constitutes "good" now, right? I am glad that you seem to be feeling much better, but I am with shewrites - don't over do it either. Us women tend to do that, then we wind up exhausted and back on the couch all day again. Take care of you first!

Thanks for all the advice and concern. I took it slow and did not over exert myself. I learned that lesson a long time ago. Thanks again. Have a nice week. Julie
