Good Morning,
I just got back from my oncologist office after having my weekly bloodwork done and was surprised by the results. I was not surprised that my white cell count was less than a 1000, since it was in the low 500s two weeks ago and I had chemo last week. I did have a neulasta shot two weeks ago and had 1 today, so expect the white cell count to shoot back up. what surprised me....I was told that I was very anemic and if I was symptomatic I would have had a transfusion. Wow...wasn't expecting that. I have felt good...good energy level and no real aches and the pain I feel is getting much better. I was also told that my chemo dosage will be decreased next time by 10 % . I understand why they have to do that but not happy about the decreasing the dosage. I want to kick some cancer butt. I am just so surprised that my energy level would be near normal while I am anemic. I spoke with the nurse at my oncologist office and she said there isn't much I can do but I am having red meat and green leafy veggies for dinner tonight and maybe every nite this week...can't hurt and might as well try something.
