Changing Our Name

Who would of thought that naming this lil boy would be so hard! I mean our first two boy's were pretty easy to name, with Ethan, my SIL said "Oh I really like the name Ethan" I heard it and there was No going back, I loved it. Now that was 4 years ago and back then it was not a very poplar name. Since naming him, Ethan's have been just popping up EVERY WHERE! LOL With Hunter, we were having prob's agreeing on name's ((again!)). My Dh said that he really liked the name. Well, after I kept saying it, and talking to my belly using that name, I agree with Dh and we named him Hunter. I still don’t think that Hunter is very poplar name, at least not in my area. Which we like to have some what different names. I don't want my kid's to go to school and there be 3 other kid's with the same name! ((now, I KNOW Ethan will prob have that prob but there nothing I can do about that now! Right! LOL))

So, here we are trying to agree on name's for this lil boy (( It would have just been so much easier if he was a girl, hehe, And really if we ever go ahead and have a 4th and its a boy, I don’t think I could do this again!! LOL)) In the beginning, we only had 2 name's that we could agree on, Kole and Chandler. Well, I veto Kole. So we were left with Chandler, which I love but for some reason I just couldn’t make a connection this the name and the baby.....((Do you know what I mean??)) (( and I guess it didn’t help that no one in my family really liked the name too)) Dh was a little iffy as well....So this left me looking for new name's, of course I would re say all the name's I like over and over to Dh and he still said NO, to all of them! ((brat)) I had my mom looking/helping me find any name's.... I am really at the end of my road...
The other day, I forget where I re heard this name. And I don’t think we ever gave it a 2nd thought, as I think its a little common these day's, But the more I hear it the more I am starting to like it. I asked Dh which name he like’s more And he even agreed with this name but he also put a middle name to it as well (( which is big because this mean he really likes the name and can see us naming him it)) So, I guess as of right now our lil man name is
Logan Scott Boley ((bol-ey))!!! I really am starting to love the name, I’m happy that we have a name….

I think that's a great name! Hopefully it'll be "the one;" I totally understand how burnt out you must feel on finding a name for your son.
My hubby and I went through the exact same thing, lol. He didn't like the names I liked, I wasn't too keen on the names he liked...so I was consuming so much of my time doing name searches, making lists, going over them with hubby, trying to find a name we could both agree on. Let me tell you, I was about to go insane, lol! We both wanted a name that was unique or uncommon, but not unusual or weird. Well, I liked a lot of the traditional names that are not so popular, but they are good, strong, "normal" names, and my husband liked very few of the traditional names and was leaning more towards unique...and there were a few suggestions he made that were...out there...lol.
I was getting so upset because I *thought* we'd agreed on a name for a boy in the first few weeks of the pregnancy, and I was really beginning to identify with the name, which was Simon. We both liked it and I thought it was final, but the more we told people about it, we got negative reaction after negative reaction--people thought is was a "sissy name" and would make fun of it by referring to "Simon Says" and that nursery rhyme "Simple Simon," blah blah blah...
It didn't bother me too much, but my husband was totally against the name by the time I was 17 weeks. And I was determined to have a "finalized" name for a boy and a girl by 19 weeks so we could name our child when we saw it on the u/s. We had a girl name for weeks, that was no problem...but the boy name!
So there we were, two weeks from finding out that it would be a boy, and we were back at square one with no name. We finally came across the name Greydon two days (I think) before the u/s, and we just knew that was "the one" because we both basically immediately said, "That's the name" once we found it. Lol, and I was so exasperated with name searching by that point that I was just happy to have a name! And wouldn't ya know...we get to the u/s and find out BOY. :-)

I really like Logan Scott...it goes great with his brothers' names, too!

I really like Logan. I think it goes well with the middle name, too, Scott. I had a friend who's little boy's name is Logan and he's about 9 but that's the only time I've heard the name so I don't think it's real common.

I'm with AHP84, I think it goes real well with his brothers names too!

Oh, oh...and also, Logan is the name of Wolverine from the X-Men--and that's about as manly as a dude can get! Lol!

Thanks, Im pretty sure thats his name! I know two logan's, one I went to school with and the other one is someone i went to highschool with, named her son logan as well. Also the other day I was at my son's school and one of the Older boys his name was logan!!

AHP- thats what ppl said about the name Chandler that is sounded like a sissy name and he will be made fun of....(( I didnt really care about what others said but it didnt help))

OMG!!! Yes it is!! We were talking to our oldest(4y/o) lastnight about the name and He LOve the name because of that!! he is all in to Wolverine!! So I asked him which name he liked better ((Fyi: I had asked him which name he liked better in the beginning between Chandler and Kole and he said Chandler)) SO when I asked him about Chandler or Logan, I wornder whcih name he picked!! lol

i love logan lennon is also nice too how old are you other children are they excited about the latest addition?

4 and 16months. Our 4 y/o is very excited about the new baby and Our 16months old doesnt understand yet.

I love the name Logan. My cousin named her baby that, it is so cute, and you don't hear it all that often. I too am struggling with names right now. DH and I can't seem to agree on anything. I am like you, I want something a bit different, but not too weird (no fruit or anything..lol). It's so hard to choose.

Love the name Logan. I never cared for the name Chandler. But Logan rocks... My Mom wanted us to name this baby Logan but we had already decided on Gavin Neil...

Logan is an awesome name! We are mulling over boy names right now as well. :) I only know one Ethan and one Hunter in real life, and they are both wonderful boys. :)

Swampy had a friend who named her first child "Logan Chicago". When she was pregnant with boy #2, Swampy suggested "Boston O'Hare."

All joking aside -- Swampy thinks the best names are easy to spell and make a simple point. Names like Grace, Timothy, etc...all well understood. Names passed down through the family are also good. Having said that, Logan is a fine name. Easy to spell and just unusual enough that he won't forever be meeting people with the same name.

I like Logan a lot. Did not choose it for our son because we live in a town called Logan. It might have been higher on the list otherwise! There is a cemetary in Logan and someone said "is that where the loganberries grow?" (har har har), so it got me started on thinking about jokes about loganberries, but since that's not such a common berry anyway I wasn't too worried about teasing on the playground.
