Veterans/Ft. Hood

Nov 11, 2009 04:34PM - 7 comments

Please keep the families of those killed at Ft. Hood and the Veterans in your prayers. Today, in prayer group, we were making some poster type things to put in classrooms to ask people to pray. One of the ladies killed at Ft. Hood was young and two months pregnant. The lady I made a poster for was 55, had two daughters and 6 grandchildren. About two years ago, a really close friend of mine died. I had the realization all over again about how short life really is. We should be grateful not just at Thanksgiving time but all the time. We should be grateful for our family, our friends, pets, the educations we are able to receive, and the list goes on. I realized that I don't give thanks much. I was thinking about my mom and how she manages to send me to school and pay for all these things that sometimes I just don't need. I'm making it a goal to let her know how thankful I am for her and all that she's done for me.

Sorry, I got kind of off topic a bit...
God Bless

Thank you for this. We need to honor our soldiers past and present. And remember them and their families in our prayers. They are heros. God bless America......America, Bless God.

Amen.

I can't remember where I read/saw this but there was something about how if we see military people..soldiers... anywhere, like at the store, etc. we should thank them for their service to our country.

I have a lot of family members in the military too, past and present. My brother, father and husband are all retired military.
I definitely think we need to pray for all the victims and families here and for our world right now because it seems like violence has just escalated worse and worse. We need God more now than ever before.

I AGREE, APRIL. WE DO NEED GOD MORE NOW THAN EVER BEFORE. WE PRAYED FOR THE FAMILIES OF THE FT. HOOD VICTIMS IN CHURCH, & I'M CONTINUING TO PRAY FOR THEM.
I HAVE 2 DAUGHTERS AND 1 SOON-TO-BE SON-IN LAW IN THE NAVY RESERVES, A GRANDDAUGHTER IN THE ARMY, AND AN EX-SON-IN-LAW (STILL MY GRANDSONS' DAD!) IN ARMY RESERVES...SO I KEEP THEM ALL IN MY PRAYERS, ALSO.
THANKS TO YOU WHO ARE REMINDING EVERYONE TO THANK/PRAY FOR THE MILITARY.
I ALSO LIKE THAT "GOD BLESS AMERICA; AMERICA BLESS GOD".
                                                                                                         GOD BLESS,
                                                                                                         BEVERLY
