It is supraventricular premature beats after all and he said these premature beats are coming from the lower chamber of my heart. He gave me a better type of metoprolol that is fast acting and it's a twice a day medication. He seemed to know what he was talking about. He is an EP. I don't seem to have anything that would require any ablation. He didn't even mention it. He knew exactly where this thing is coming from and what it does. It was pretty easy to understand his explanation. I'm glad he explained because although I had some idea, I didn't really know for sure.
So maybe this stuff will help and I can stop worrying so much. He said it was about quality of life and he "hit the nail on the head". My quality of life has not been so great the last several years. Everything else with my heart is great. The echo and stress tests shows my heart is working right as far as pumping/squeezing. I go back in a month to check back with him. This is really a great cardiac clinic. Most of the people are very nice and I haven't had that in a LONG time. Go to the ones where it consists of several cardiologists because if you need and EP likely you will get one in the same building because they have their regular cardiologists and some of the electrophysiologists. If you live in the Dallas area I would recommend the place to you. They even take insurance in most cases.
