I am a 43 year old mother of 2 wonderful children (15 & 12). Three years ago, I was diagnosed with Thorasic Outlet Syndrome, a condition that causes pain and neuropathy from my left shoulder, down to the ends of my fingers. To address those symptoms, I am currently taking Lyrica, Baclofen and lots of OxyContin.

I have known for a long time that I need to get off of the OxyContin and learn to live with my pain in some other way. The time has come for me to take action. I've done a lot of reading, particularly on this site. I have set my quit date as New Years week. I've gotten info on the Thomas Recipe and purchased everything on the list. I started taking the vitimin and minerals, in order to raise my levels. I see my doctor on Friday to let him know that I'm planning to do this. Most significantly, I'll also get my last script from him.  Exciting and frightening at the same time.

I've read other people's posts about detoxing and have been truly impressed with the amount of support that comes from this community. I truly hope that I'm able to find some support here myself, with the promise that I will do the same for others when it's my turn to do so.
