nipple piercing infection?????

have had my nipple piercing for about 4 years, have had a couple of infections,throughout that time... been to the doc, had antibotics and even a quarterization (puss coming from it) this process  didnt hurt!!! and now again i have a little lump one side of the nipple which is sore....after reading some of the journals on here am now quite....uptight....how did these people, or anyone else go on?????? i also have a lump on my vagina hood where i am pierced this doesnt hurt but i feel it looks...odd!!!! if i remove both these will i still have the lumps????( i really dont want to remove them as i do like them....but.......my health is more important......) i have my belly button and ears done, did have problems with belly button after quarterized no issues! thanks to anyone who can help! j x
