Dec 08, 2009
I am 20 years old. In June 2009 is when all of my problems started. I felt really dizzy & my heart was racing. I went to the E.R. & they said I was dehydrated & my potassium was low, so they gave me potassium meds. I thought I was fine & then about 2 weeks later the same thing happened. I knew I couldn't be dehydrated b/c I had been drinking plenty of fluids and drinking nothing but gatorade b/c it has potassium in it. So I went to the E.R. again & they suggested me to go to a cardiologist. When I went, the doc said I was stressed. So he suggested me to have a stress test & a heart echo. I did that & everything came back normal. I thought everything was okay & then I realized my heart palpitations were happening more often & my heart was racing more often. So I scheduled myself a doc appoinment and he said by listening to me I didn't sound stressed at all. But he gave me Metoprolol Tart (25mg) to calm me down. It calmed my heart rate down. Metoprolol is originally for bp, which mine is normal, so I'm not sure why he put me on that. But ever since I started taking it I been lightheaded. So I took myself off of it b/c I was tired of feeling that way. I can't take a shower without getting dizzy, I get lightheaded by just sitting here & not doing anything, My heart palpitations seem to be getting worse. I just want answers. Does certain foods have anything to do with the way I'm feeling or what? I just want some medicine to make me feel normal again. Any suggestions?
