Hello,
About 12 years ago I received an electrical shock while at work which had me in the hospital for 3 days. I remember the doctor telling me that though I had no noticeable damage (not even burn marks on my hand) he felt it necessary to keep me a few days to monitor my liver. (Apparently it is susceptible to damage as a result from electrical shock.) After the 3 days, however, I was released.
A few weeks ago I went in for an all around check-up and through an MRI the doctor (different from above) was able to determine that I had a "massively disfigured" liver. Last week a biopsy was performed, I and am still waiting for the lab results. However, I am neither an alcoholic nor diabetic. I am also 36 years old, 6' tall, and 190 lbs: hardly obese.
My question is if my liver damage can be attributed to the electrical shock I received 12 years ago, eventhough at the time there was no damage? Could my accident have triggered slow, but continuous damage over the years?
