Hello Lisa,
I don't think the dr would give you false hope. It is funny that you brought this subject up. I was talking to a few women today at work and we got to talking about having children later in life. there was 6 women and 3 had there last child at 40-43 years of age. And there Dr told them they were going through the change. 2 women had assistants in getting preg. and the 3rd woman had gotten preg by mistake. she had her baby at the age of 43 and her child is happy and healthy and she was diagnosis of going through the change at 34. So just to throw experiences out there, here are 3 to show this is possible. I have been talking and collecting more and more info from people's experiences and research on all aspects of getting and being preg. knowing that all women are different.
keeping you in our prayers
