Liver Transplant after 5 years

Jul 02, 2008 11:37PM - 1 comments

My husband is going to the hospital  tomorrow 7/3 /2008 at Columbia Presbyterian.  I hope everything will be fine.  I'm just feeling low because I just can't see myself without him .  The doctor said that his kidneys are shutting down and  he cannot have another liver. I'm  worried very worried. Teary eyes. I wrote this poem for him more than 5 years ago.

Another Day of Life

I look back through the years
Life's changes, unexpected tears
Happy moments and sad ones too
Making life colorful through and through.

Life is worth living
As the sun keeps shining
What will life be on the other side?
Who knows what it may be?
Could it be as colorful as it is right now?
Or just plain gray?
Nobody knows what it's like, it's all hearsay.

Another day of life is what I am thankful for.
Beautiful moments and making life as it is my last.

My husband was in the hospital from 7/3- 7/14 at Columbia Presbyterian 168th Street.  He is much better now  but  he have more medication than ever.  I have been juggling myself to work, hospital then t pick the kids and going to school.  It's been rough but I leave it to God's hands whatever I do. His kidneys almost shutdown.  The liver biopsy came out positive of autoimmune hepatitis again like it was 5 years ago.   All that they can do is give him medications to prolong  his lifespan.  These are his meds and if you know anything about it please let me know about it :  ACYCLVIR 800 MG,NORVASC 10 MG, NEXIUM 40MG,CELLCEPT 500 MG., NYSTATIN,5ML,BACTRIM SS 1TAB, PREDNISONE 40MG,INSULIN.  He can walk and he gets tired quick.  His belly grew really big.  I am really worried.  I spoke to the doctor but she was not the attending physician.  I will make  sure to get in touch with his doctor asap.  Take care to all of you ..
