Signs that it's time for a new Doctor

change doctors

I've seen this coming for a while, but I so hate looking for new doctors that I've been procrastinating to an extreme...
It was bad enough when mine started scheduling patients every 15 minutes and hurrying out of appointments.
Then the nurses started mentioning that appointments were for one issue only and if I wanted to bring up unrelated issues I needed another appointment.

Now... Check this out...

I called my doc's office, told them I called the Radiologist yesterday and the results of my biopsy were in so could I please set up an appointment.

"Sure thing - Your doctor is out on vacation all next week so we can get you in the week after."

As this is for the RESULTS OF A BIOPSY, is there anyone ELSE I could talk to?

"I can set you up with the Nurse Practitioner on Monday. Let me make sure we have your results."

"Where did you say you got the test done? We don't have ANY information at all on it."

"Well, we'll call them."

Is there any chance I can get in today?

"No, we're only seeing sick people today. Will Monday still work for you?"

---------------------------------

Followed immediately by me calling a friend and leaving a message asking for her doctor's information.

Now - I know the biopsy results are ultimately negative... what if they were positive?? Would I get this same c*#&?

Sounds like your dr is nothing more than a fee collector. I've been to a few of them. Just don't wait for him to say, "There's nothing more I can do for you." To me, that is a sign of laziness, incompetence, or just stupidity. Anyway, stop procrastinating - set up an appointment with another dr and have all your records forwarded to him or her.
Good luck!

I THOUGHT my dr. was the sh*at.  But, i'm starting 2 wonder myself.  I see her EVERY month. I'm also on narcotics & 10 other scripts 4 ALL my ailments.  ANYWAY, I called 2 make sure some results were in 2 discuss & the receptionist had the nerve 2 tell me:

"You will have 2 set up another appt. so she can cover THOSE results in a different appt."

**Oh... NO SHE DIDN"T!! *lol*  Sooooooo

I said, "I don't understand why, i come EVERY month & she ALWAYS covers ALL my ailment problems/progress are u sure about this??"  She replies, "I'll need 2 run this by her & call u back"!

I was fumming!!  They KNOW my personality & i've been going there for 4 yrs. now. So, i was ready 2 call up someone else.  But, this is a small town & it took me many dr.'s 2 find one that is open 2 new procedures.

Heck, it was only 20 min. AND ring... ring.... "Dr. said, NO problem we'll see u Monday"!! *LOL*

I don't what the deal was BUT I gave em' hell & it worked.

BEST OF LUCK finding a new dr. that UNDERSTANDS & SYMPATHIZES w/ u'r needs. SO important!!!

It is important you have a Dr you feel comfortable with and will give you the results of all your tests as soon as possible. I know how difficult the waiting is and how ones mind can run away with it.  Glad to know however that I am not the only one in this boat.Hope things work out well for all of you.
Hoping for the best for all of you

Hi
I don't know if the last one went out correctly I was hoping it would get posted on the Forum. At any rate this one is for Sadheem. My doctor tells me to talk to different ones to answer my questions. I get the feeling that maybe she does not know too much. I am uncomfortable with her. I am going to go for two different opinions now.(hopefuly I will get in.) Let me know how things turn out for yu.
