200lbs and trying to lose at least 30lbs

Jul 03, 2008 02:18PM - 3 comments

I need to lose weight so badly. I seem to gain more and more weight every year, and its depressing. I used to turn every head in the room, now I feel so ugly. I had surgury on my back in August of '03 and since then is when I started to gain the weight. I find it hard to exersise because of the pain I get from it. Any support would be beneficial. Thanks

You may want to check out Weight Tracker and the Healthy Cooking and Dieting communities. They may help you in your goal to lose 30 pounds. Good luck to you!

Weight Tracker: click the tab labeled Trackers above
Healthy Cooking and Dieting communities: Click the Forums icon in the top navigation and you'll find both communities on the left. I'm a big fan of the Healthy Cooking community.

I know you have heard this before...but really a sensible diet is best.  Weight Watchers type diets work well for most people.  My husband was diagnosed diabetic, and had been on high blood pressure meds for 10 years.  He had a terrible situation with his diabetic episode and almost lost his life.... that scared him into getting serious about his weight.  He went to a nutritionist and she put him on a diet, much like Weight Watchers.  He now is 60 lbs. lighter, threw the high blood pressure pills in the trash (his blood pressure is normal), he is no longer diabetic, no more goat, his cholesterol went down from 800 to 200.  This works!  I will pray for you.  You can do it.   You do not have to always go to the Weight watcher meetings; I think you can even do it on line.  Good luck!

I've heard so many great things about Weight Watchers! I just read an article by a lady in Guidepost who lost 150 pounds on Weight Watchers! If you're looking for a little inspiration and hope, check out her story. It's in June's Guidepost magazine written by Jane Shukitis. You might be able to find it on Guidepost.com too.
I just thought of that because I just read her story yesterday and am thinking about trying Weight Watchers too.
Just take one day at a time! I wish you the best!
April
