thyroid surgery

Recently told that I needed my thyroid taken out. Scared and would like to learn more about this type surgery. I have hyperthyroid and goitor has anyone else had this and able to share their experience with me. I know that I am in God's hands and must have faith that this will go according to his will.

I haven't had my thyroid out but do have nodules on both sides and had RAI.  I know it is scary but God helped me so much.  He gave me so many scriptures I felt that I had a mattress to lay on.  I hung them on my kitchen cabinets and read them every morning.  He also gave me wonderful Christian friends and this thyroid forum and the people on it.  He also told me to do as the doctors told me to and take the medicine as it woudl help to keep me safe.  I am not a medicine taker and donot like doing it.  I obeyed and it really did help me.  My experience will not be like yours because I have not had my thyroid taken out but I wanted to encourage you that God will supply all your needs.  There are so many on this forum that can help you to understand what you will go through and afterwards how you will feel.  I will be praying for you.  Linda
