13 weeks 2 days scare :-(

Jun 27, 2015 - 23 comments

Well we had a long night last night at the ER. Got there around 12:41 am and left at 7 am..... I started bleeding last night around 11:30. I went to bathroom felt fine but when I went potty I felt something pass. Afraid to look I finally did. I saw a clot and some dark red blood but when I wiped myself there wasn't much blood on the tissue. I was the light redish/pink color that you would see as if your period was going off.

I thought ok it was just a fluke thing and all was ok. So I went a hot back in bed and not even 5-10 min later I felt something again.... Went to bathroom and boy did all hell break loose... There was dark red blood and clots I was so scared. Of course I called my hubby and he was home in 15 min

We went to hospital and they got us a room in the ER. I was getting ready to tKe my clothes off and change into my hospital gown and when I pulled my ants off there was blood running down both my legs with my panties still on. Never had that happen before. I got in bed hubby went and got the nurse to tell her about all the bleeding.

The nurse n Dr on duty came in my room. He did my pelvic exam and explained to me that my cervix was opened a lil and that it looked like I was having a miscarriage. I asked him was there an Ob on call and if so that we needed to call him/her.  So he went to look and thank God the Ob on duty was one from my office... So the Ob got there and used the mobile u/s machine and praise God he/we saw our lil blessing in there with his/her heart just a flickering!!!!!!!!!!!!

After that he did a pelvic exam and assured us that my cervix was indeed closed and there was no new blood. He put me on bed rest for a week. So I don't return to work until July 6. So dh and I are going to calculate our finances and see if he can swing the bills for 2-3 months and I just hang out at home.... It's going to be boring because I'm used to working and coming and going....... But if it helps us to get our lil miracle here safe and healthy it's well worth it!!!!!!

So I'm to call first thing Monday and get seen one day this week for a follow up and Doppler heartbeat scan. He did say he did not see any clotting and doesn't know why this is happening. If any of u have any suggestions as to questions I may need to as please let me know. I want to do e erythung possible that I can to help our baby make it home in Dec.

Thanks  ladies

Oh my gosh what an insensitive dr to tell you it looked like a miscarriage without being in the position to say that!! Thank god little baby is okay!! You should realllly try to stay home, its important you're off our feet as much as possible until this little one is viable!

With me i had heavy heavy bleeding every 2 weeks, and several clots, it was really scary . My Ob said it was the way my placenta was sitting on my cervix, It happened for me the first time at 9 weeks then again at 12 weeks then again at 14 weeks and the last time at 34 weeks. There was never any reason except for the position of my placenta, I was on bed rest for months in my pregnancy due to that. Just keep resting as much as u can, Get a good book, some movies and just relax. Thinking of you, Hugs, If u need to talk im here. As u know the bleeding never affected Jack and my cervix was always closed when the bleeding happened just like you.

Il be thinking of you.

I am glad baby is ok. I had documented my pregnancy with M with all the hemorrhaging and being on bed rest for 28 weeks. If you think what you experienced was similar to my pregnancy complications I would be happy to help however I can. Sometimes there are no clear cut answers and that is frightening but you've gotta do what you gotta do and have faith it will work out as it should. Feet up and drink water till your head is swimming. I would make sure they measure your cervix in order to make sure a cerclage isn't needed (has to be done by a certain time in pregnancy to minimize risks to baby) and ask if progesterone would be of benefit in your case.
Glad you and baby are ok.

Well Kee if it is that, what happens is the blood collects above your cevix and when it gets to heavy it lets go and u bleed. then the process happens again blood will slowly pool above your cevix from your placenta again. when your cervix starts to rise higher the further u get in your pregnancy it will stop. For me it was my placenta rubbing against my cervix, I hope its something small, and this wont happen again and u can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. I have a feeling its the same thing that happened to me, My Ob had no Def answer but this is the only reason he could come up with and  i had no cramping  and the first time it happened to me it was like a pop like a air bubble that let go and u explained it just like that. Im so glad baby is doing great. and as u know Jack was fine.  Please keep us updated

I am so glad everything is ok!  What wonderfull news!  Thank Goodness!
Bleeding is so often a mystery.  I spotted/bled pretty much every day from week 6 to 16.  There were times I thought for sure it was the end, but thank God it wasn't.
I hope you and your dh can figure things out and you can take it easy.

Ellen, thanks I will be sure to ask about both of those.... I hope they can squeeze me on in tomorrow......

Renae, it does sound like it could be that doesn't it..... It's just a lot and you become so emotional all the up and down. Am I losing my baby then u go to Dr and u see ur lil one and a heartbeat then the two of you are happy then...... BOOM something happens again then you scared to death again something is wrong with your baby. I just wish I could enjoy a pregnancy for once with no complications and joy joy joy every day ha know

TTC, thank you for your thoughts n prayers and yes I definitely gonna do all I can to stay in this bed hydrated and feet up.

MHV, oh wow I didn't know you had problems like that and bled that often!?! I know that was hard. But like u said thank God that wasn't the end. And I'm trusting and believing this isn't our end either

Yvette, thank you so much..... That sounds great ^_^

Grace, it really was I was so so scared that my lil one wasn't there.....but when we saw the U/S and how much he/she has grown it was the most beautiful thing and a sudden peace came over me... THERES MY BABY!!!!! God I thank you now if we can just get this bleeding to stop. It had slacked up after we left the hospital but when I went to bathroom to wipe myself after peeing I saw blood but no clots n no cramps thank the Lord!!!!

Oh my goodness Kee!! I am so grateful that your little miracle baby is doing well. I am glad that Renae was able to offer her experience and Ellen too. I hope it gives you some peace of mind even if it's only a small amount. I am also happy that you had the foresight to ask for an OB instead of just taking the ER doctor at his word. Doctors are so insensitive sometimes! I hope you enjoy taking some time off to rest for you and your baby. Do you write? Writing in a journal always helps me process through crisis.

Prayers and Hugs and Love to you my friend!!

Hi Hollus,
I'm so thankful, for them being able to share there experiences as well and it has helped to ease my mind a lil.

I'm definitely going to take advantage of this time and resting and letting hubby take care of baby and I. And I must say he has been doing an excellent job ^_^

I do not write other than here but it may be something to consider, thanks

With love
Kee

KeeLolo- yes, it was nerve-racking!  the one good thing was, being pregnant with twins, I had a lot of u/s's to ease my mind.  But, yes, I had brown, red, light, and heaving bleeding almost every single day until about 16 weeks.  And interestingly enough?  I was never put on bed rest.  Not once.

I know it is so scary, but you are doing the best thing you can for your baby.  Hang in there!  Hopefully you will stop completely soon.  Up your water consumption too.  It helps to keep your uterus hydrated.  80oz's or more a day.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this again. I can't imagine your anxiety level!

Is there any way your doctor would sign-off on longer than just 1 week of bed rest? Or maybe a modified return-to-work schedule (half days, work at home, ability to rest for a bit when needed, etc.). I'm not sure what you do for work, if you're on your feet at all or if you're able to do your job from home. I'm just trying to think of a way you don't have to go completely without your salary until the baby is born. Obviously, the baby is way more important than money, but if you can find a way to get short-term disability or a modified schedule that gives you adequate rest, that could be a win-win situation.

I'll continue to pray for you and your family!!

ugh, Kee.. I've got to start texting you. I'm so behind!!!! Colby Lee has thrush now & we've been trying to get him well..

I hate to hear about all of this, but do you remember my scare? before I hit the 10-week mark I filled up a panty liner with dark red blood, cramping, etc. went to the ER & I was diagnosed with a Subchorionic Hemorrhage.. if I spelled that correctly. it's just where supposedly during Colby Lee forming, blood was trapped between the palcenta & my uterus.

they basically just said sometimes the body absorbs it, sometimes it leaks out.. maybe that's what you had & it healed or collapsed before your OB could see it? just a thought, but I hope it helps..

so happy to hear everything is okay!!! rest, rest, rest!! we love you so much, and we'll talk to you soon!!!! (((:
