9 weeks, 5 days. - Gardening with Mike.

Jul 06, 2008 12:00AM - 1 comments

Our neighbour Mike (the one we bought this house from) is now selling his house. He came to me a few days ago, to see if I'd be interested in buying his house.

Our two houses are almost worth the same, only his house is bigger and better. There is an extra room in the house, a walk in pantry, more kitchen bench and cupboards, enclosed garage, easier garden to care for, and more.

I am seriously considering selling ours and buying his. In the meantime, we are working together to clean up our front yards. There is a reasonable amount of strata property which is what has encouraged this. Mike is using a high pressure cleaner to clean the driveway bricks. Angus is spreading the yellow sand back between the bricks, and I am weeding all of our gardens.  We worked from 10am to 4pm today (Mike is still going) and I am pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say that we are exausted.

Over the next week or so we will finish the gardens and then go halves and purchase some mulch to make the garden look better.

I am going to get a few new plants to fill in the gaps that the summer heat created. (I am terrible at remembering to turn the sprinklers on during our allocated watering days...)

The thought of moving is very exciting, I love living in a new house. Hopefully I can make it work financially, because it would be great to have the extra room...

wow, how cool is that!!
I am all excited for you - have you already started painting the baby's room, or is that on hold now, until the decision about moving is made?
Have you already spoken to your mum about the idea?
How are you any way, if you spent the whole day weeding, you must be feeling relatively good, which I am glad about. And having stuff to do which you can do together with other people (like gardening with DH and the neighbour) must be great to keep your mind off any discomforts you have.

... love you lots... writing you a PM with all my updates
