How does one eat 6 times a day.  This is getting uncomfortable, even sticking within the calorie range....

I have thought about that.  I am still kind of sick with food aversions, so I only eat 2-3 times a day with minimal food. But, during the day I lay around fantasizing about eating, : )  wondering how to do this 6-8 meals a day reccommendation. I definatly think it is/will be a challenge to get used to. Probably one of those things that will be easy as pie once we get used to it....

Hi.  Yes I am being forced to due to gestational diabetes. Constant nausea doesn't help.

I can imagine how bad it is with food aversions.....

Maybe the key is just to eat little amounts frequently, each meal should be about the size of a small closed fist, I am told...

I guess the key is getting started and getting into the habit...

Have you always had diabetes, or were you just diagnosed?

I just read a post from you-  how were you diagnosed so early with gestational diabetes, did you have symptoms that caused them to test?

I try to snack in between meals, nuts, dry fruit, morning cereal, etc.  Smoothies also help especially when you do not feel like eating.  They do not smell and have lots of good stuff.

it does not have to be a full meal, per se. Just something to keep the metabolism going.

Just diagnosed with diabetes last week.  However I have pituitary and thyroid and other endocrine issues so they were expecting diabetes and my endo tested at my first visit after I told him I was pregnant.

Helen, yes the don't smell is really an issue.

Thanks...
