Worried

Jul 06, 2008 11:14PM - 5 comments

I go for a consult w/ gyn on Thurs. I am concerned that she will not understand that I have had these symptoms all along but didn't link them to cysts and such. I blamed FMS and degenerative disc disease for most of the pain. Since researching about all my issues, I have made a connection w/symtoms. I hope she doesn't think I'm just saying I have the symptoms b/c I read about them. That is not the case. I pray she will understand.
I am also worried that I will be going to a workshop this week. This means riding for over an hour to get there, sitting for six more hours, riding for another hour to get back, and this will be every day except Thurs.  On the up side, I am going w/4 other teacher friends. This will be good.

Just want to pop in and wish you all the luck with your doctor.  If she doesn't believe you, get yourself another doctor who will believe.  I've read an article recently about describing your pain location, and the kind of pain (like stabbing pain, electric shock kind of pain, dull pain, chronic throbbing pain.....etc. ), so your doctor have a better idea how to go about treating you, and/or dx you.   Thoughts and prayers are with you for your Thurs. appt.

My doc is 2 hours away, one way, and 1 hour session.  By the time I get back home, I'm useless rag to say the least.  So, I totally get your concern about the workshop.   Finger crossed that you will have a successful week, without too much pain, with all your friends.

Hugs,
Kit

Good luck Karen.  I'm sure all will work out.  Maybe you can take some of those pads that get cold or the ones that get hot, whichever helps your pain and nobody would even know if you had them on.  I hope you know what I am talking about.  Walgreens sells them here and they are like big bandaides but are cold or hot compresses.  Just a thought.
I'll keep you in my prayers.

Karen, just tell her your history and what you are thinking now.  Any reasonable doctor will get it.  My thoughts will be with you.  All the best,
Trudie
