9 weeks, 6 days. - Anna's accident.

Jul 07, 2008 12:00AM - 2 comments

Today I was out shopping with both kids (school holidays) and was browsing the baby toy section when Anna (who had repeatedly asked to sit down) lay down in the middle of the shops.

I asked her to get up, and Seth went over to give her a hand. Unfortunately with Anna, helping her up by the hand is a 'no no' because she has weak wrists.

So Seth pulled, and Anna started screaming. Myer supplied first aid including a cardboard splint, bandaging and a sling.

Next we went to the doctors (instead of to do the groceries that we needed for dinner) and waited a very long time (around 1.5hrs) to see a doctor.

The doctor sent us to the radiologist for an x-ray to check for a fracture and we waited there some more.

The entire event started at 1pm and we got home at 4.45pm. It was long, boring and very distressing for me, especially as the doctor just about made her scream with pain and I couldn't be the one to hold her for the x-ray (because of the pregnancy).

So now I have nothing to cook for dinner, my groceries aren't done and we are going to have to buy something like chips (from the fish and chip shop) and some fresh bread as we have eaten out a little bit too much lately (nausea discourages me from being in the kitchen) and can't afford much else.

On the bright side, I picked up some really cute baby toys cheaply today!   :)

soo.... how is anna? did the x-raxs show a fracture? I find it hard to imagine that seth could fracture her wrist by pulling on it... but if they were weak in the first place.....??? I always used to have very weak wrists, and sometimes if I did something strange movement, didn't have to be with much force at all, just in an odd direction they would start hurting so much so that I couldn't sleep for the throbbing pain. They were never broken, it was a weak tendon or something like that.

oh, and by the way.... you can start getting excited about a post pack from germany

Not sure about the fracture (radiologist had gone home for the day) but will ring and find out tomorrow. She was pulled up, but when she screamed Seth let go and she hit the ground... So has had multiple dislocations, pulled things and a fracture in her elbow.

Post pack????
