Panic Attack

My daughter and I went to a flea market today, looking for someone who can refill powder ink cartridge for printer.
It was so freakin busy in there, and within minutes, I felt the panic come on.....
I just cant stand busy congested noisy places.
Freaks me out just a bit too much!

I can relate... I have had to just leave in the middle of shopping for groceries, cart half full and to many people just going in all directions no one watching where they shove their carts and I just overloaded felt dizzy and clammy my heart pounding with panic and out the door I went. The last time I felt this instead of leaving I went to the flower section not to many people hang there and I just took some time to do my breathing technics and inorder for no one to see what I was really doing I did it with my face buried in the flower arrangments. I sucessfully finished my shopping! Not saying it was easy NO but I did it, next time might not work.  Look at your successful times and what helped you do it. I go to therapy to learn how to get through these horrible panic/anxiety attacks, I don't know if you are seeking help but I have found it to be a great help for me.
Take care
Robyn

Hi Robyn
Isnt it the worst, going shopping, an everyday kind of thing, and its so difficult.  I just hate what it is doing to me, the helplessness, the fear...  You know!
Thank you for sharing your idea of going to the flower section!  Next time I'm going to give it a try.

I used to work at the safeway where I grocery shop, so I do know a lot of the staff, which makes it kind of more embarrassing.  I get so worked up that someone I know is going to see me lose my mind, and watch me lose control.  Most times now I take my daughter with me, she tries to keep me focused.  I do worry about what affect this has on her, and also worry that I may embarrass her in front of her friends.  I think I am my worst enemy, in fact, I know I am.
I dont go to any therapy what so ever.  I have been thinking of it, but then I always have so much more things I have to do.
Grrrr...life is so hard.  It seems that nothing EVER goes easy for me.

Ok, I'm having a blah day.
Trying to plant seeds, and clean the house, and the other million or so other things racing through my head.
Do you get that too?  Where it seems the thoughts in your head are going 100 miles an hour, and its sometimes so hard to focus on ONE thing?
Do you have a tough time falling asleep at night because your brain just wont quit thinking?
I am so frustrated with all of it.
Do you take any medications for your anxiety?

Going across bridges is very hard for me.  Like when I have to cross the north saskatchewan river,  Once I get to the other side, I used to have to pull over and hurl.  Then I'm so scatter brained, and panicky, because I know I have to cross it again to get home.
Another biggie, is being in a vehicle at night.  The oncoming lights just gets me going.  Even when I am a passenger.

AHHHHHH  life!  Isn't it great!
Gonna get ready for bed, its 10:45pm,
talk to you soon
Laurie
