My Big Babies

Jul 08, 2008 11:23PM - 8 comments

So, finally, the Tomlin Twin update (newsflash music, please): Henry is weighing in at 1 lb. 8 0z., and Cadence is just behind hime at 1 lb. 7 oz.  This is SUCH good news, as we all know, as they will most likely stop growing anytime between 32-24 weeks, as is the norm for twinkies. All their organs and parts measure great, heartbeats are excellent, and they are in a yin-yang position. Henry has his head in my low belly, and Cadence's head is in my rib cage. Thus, the searing pain I have been having in that area on that side.

I have gained 14 pounds, 10 of which have been in the last 10 weeks. So I guess I am averaging about a pound a week since 14 weeks. I am pretty happy about this number, as it shows I am gaining, but not overly so. I had gained 25-30 pounds in the months befor TTC when my period did not come for 5 months (during my grandmother's cancer and death: it'll be one year tomorrow), so I will still have a lot of weight to lose post-partum, but I hope it stays somewhat under control.

I do have a new Tomlin Twins DVD, but am too tired to try and fuss with that tonight. I will post pics soon. I probably will not be able to capture this, but one funny thing that happenned was Henry was poking/punching Cadence, and she put up not only both arms but BOTH LEGS in front of her face in defense! What a little yoga baby! She looked like a ball of limbs.

Hi hon - sooo glad to hear how things are going!!  I hear you about the extra weight to lose - I only gained 17 pounds w/Noah but I was mildly overweight to begin with so I have a ways to go myself.

I can't wait for you guys to do the 3/d u/s.  My ob commented to us that usually the babies are pretty similar in appearance at birth compared to what they looked like at the 3/d u/s.  Noah's living proof of that - he looked soooo much like his 'picture'.  even now I can still see the resemblence.

Wow, the twins are really growing!!!  You sound like you're feeling good - how's your neck/pain?  Are you able to keep it under control?  A little news on me: I'm seeing a cardiologist & general surgeon on the 24th.  My continued swelling feet and umbilical hernia concerned my ob and he's sending me for consultations.  Noah continues to be a big boy!!  He weighed in at 12.3 pounds at his 2 month check-up and he's now in his big boy crib!!  I can't believe it that my little boy's already outgrown his bassinet.  We're enjoying him so much although the lack of sleep's sometimes is trying.  We're fortunate to have a grandmother who adores her newest grandson (that's Wade's mom).  My mom seems indifferent to the new addition which has been very sad for me.  I thought that she would enjoy her newest grandchild but she finds any excuse in the world to avoid seeing him for more than 5 minutes.

Well, I won't depress you any longer - I just wanted to wish you more continued success w/the twins!!  You guys are in my thoughts/prayers - keep me posted!! - jen

P.S. I love the names Henry and Cadence  - you done good, hon!
