Hi Everyone, I feel so bad. Yankee Baseball great Bobby Mercer died form his cancer today. I think he battled it for 5 or 6 years. I didn't really watch him when he played even though I am a big Yankee Fan, he played before I was a fan. I watched him as a great, sweet and charming announcer who happened to be battling brain cancer. What impressed me so much was how cheerful, positive and brave he seemed to be. If I ever get this dreaded disease , I thought, I would try to be like him, because once you heard him talk , you forgot the bald head ,you forgot the hoarse voice, you forgot the disease and it never seemed to get him down. Of course I only saw him on tv. Anyway, I hope all that are battling this awful disease keeps their head up , and thinks positively and keeps fighting because it makes such a difference, even if the odds are not statistically on your side. They are just that, statistics. Prayers, Ellen
