Here's the description:
A cardio dance workout that incorporates a variety of dance genres. You'll burn calories as the instructor leads you through salsa, hip hop, tease and cowboy boogie style movements.
I think it'll be fun. Its through 24hour Fitness. They offer so many types of exercise classes!

that does sound like fun!!! i have some workout dvds i'm dying to start doing again called turbo jam. i just have to wait until after my 6wk checkup next week to begin!
i'm also interested in doing the adult dance class my dd's dance teacher offers during the school year.
i would love it if dh would be willing to do some type of couples dancing... but he would NEVER do it! :(

I was a ballet dancer for years until my late 20's when my knee finally gave it up for good. I still miss it! I was able to do aerobics for a couple of years when I also started weightlifting and strengthened my knee muscles. The thing that drove me nuts with those classes were the dingbat instructors: and ONE! and TWO! and ONE! and TWO! And they never took their eyes off their own reflection in the mirror the entire time. The number of people who injured themselves because the instructors weren't correcting form problems was outrageous. Sadly, the folks who got injured over and over again never realized why it kept happening, and looked at the injuries as a kind of badge of honor. "See how hard I work!"
The finest aerobics instructor I ever saw in my life was a black guy who could have done anything from ballet to C&W to ballroom to hip-hop to any kind of dance you can imagine. He actually worked his way around the room to make sure everyone used correct form. Wow! What a concept - an honest-to-God teacher! It was a sad day when he moved on, and I wish him well wherever he landed.

Oh, it wasn't quite the way I pictured it!
It was mostly a lot of older people. And by that, I mean older than ME people. There was one MAN who appeared to be in his 80's. He was dressed in a white wife-beater and what looked like boxer shorts to me. He had sandals on, with white socks that had the garter things holding them up. Picture him doing the Booty Bump and you'll know what I went through.
That was the point at which my eyes just sort of glazed over and I knew I just had to power through it, somehow.
The instructor was a cute young girl with huge boobs. She bounced and danced all around while the elderly people sort of shuffled aimlessly around like living zombies.
I found that I do NOT look dead sexy when facing those huge mirrors and am sweating profusely. My arms had that turkey waddle thing going on, and it distracted me severely. And every time I looked around, I could see Grandpa stumbling around in his boxers.
i would have loved it!! lol. when i was in high school my girlfriends and i volunteered at a convalescent hosp. we wheeled the old women into a room, put on obnoxious music that WE liked and led them in a round of wheelchair aerobics lol. some loved it and would stick around, some would mumble and roll out of the room. i love the old people that gave it a shot. but i can see your point, the old guy in his boxers must have been what pushed you over the edge. that would be a great you tube video! lol

OMG! You're a better woman than I am. I don't think I would have persevered through the whole class. Certainly once I noticed the old bat wings taking flight, I'd have been gone gone GONE! :-)
