Understanding?

Jul 18, 2008 09:25PM - 6 comments

So many people talk about folks not understanding and supporting. I am counting my blessings every day. I just sent an e-mail to my principal about my surgery date being on Aug 11 and students' first day of school being Aug 12. She replied that there is no problem unless there is not a solution. She said the solution is for me to have surgery, not worry about work, she'll get a really good substitute until I'm ready to come back. I was worried about all this and she totally put my mind at ease. It is wonderful to be surrounded by caring and understanding people!!! I wish everyone was as blessed with this as I have been.

It doesn't sound like Principal Skinner from The Simpsons  = )

Sounds like a principal who understands his teachers and his/her students.

Hope your surgery goes well.

Hugs to you ....

Good luck with your surgery ! Here's a helpful link:

"GUIDANCE FOR FM PATIENTS WHO ARE HAVING ELECTIVE SURGERY"

If you are having a major surgical procedure there are some issues that you may wish to discuss with your surgeon and anesthesiologist that could reduce the “fibro-flare” that often occurs after surgery in Fibromyalgia patients.

1. Request that you wear a soft neck collar and minimize neck hyperextension (if an endotracheal tube is anticipated).

2. Request that your arm with the intravenous line be kept near your body, not away from your body or over your head.
