Wats up, i am a black female who is 18 yrs old and i am from flint, Michigan. i have been diagnosed with Polysistic Coverian  Syndrome. I lose weight than turn around and gain it back. My health is not up to par and it is really starting to get to me because i feel like i am different from most of my friends because they dont have to go through the stuff i go through on the daily bases. This is my last year of high school, well it suppose to be i am not sure if i am graduating with the class of 2008. I get very depressed at times going to school day after day knowing that i am not graduating with the class i am originally with and sometimes i just wanna give up and drop out although everybody is counting on me. I am not a person who like to discuss things like this so thats why i wrote y'all. I need some real help.

I got on here to research another issue but saw your post.  I am 31 and was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago after not being able to figure out what might be wrong with me when I was unable to get pregnant.  I just had to reply to you to say DO NOT GIVE UP!  There are lots of great books that might be able to help you with this condition.  Check out Amazon.  PCOS can produce weight issues, excess hair growth and if left undedected can cause health problems later in life.  FEEL LUCKY that you are young and that you know about this now and can start taking steps to battle it.  Whatever troubles you are going through I promise they will pass, just take one day at a time.  I personally would suggest talking to your doctor or nurse at your school about nutrition as it relates to PCOS.  For me avoiding sugars really helped me with my weight issues and it's a great time to start while you are young.  When I went to see a nutritionist it helped me a lot to keep a journal of what I was eating and made me feel more in control of the problem.  You might also try pcosupport.org - it's dedicated site for PCOS support.

Keep the faith!
