So....he didn't come over last night - but he did call 2 hours before he was due over, so that is some progress, yes? Still vacillating between telling him that he's right and it's a waste of time for both of us and just giving it more time to see what happens...friends say to call it quits, family says to call it quits, but it's just not that easy. Why isn't it that easy?

Staying with the familiar is easier than going into the unknown.
If he's making you feel bad, leave him and face the unknown. Can being alone or looking for someone else be as bad as this?
I know - you don't know me and vice versa. It's only my opinion. But I've done it and sometimes the unknown is SO much better than the familiar.
