Emergency room visit last night.  Esophageal spasms!  What next??  The chest pains were soooooo hard.  I swallowed a bite of meat and it got stuck in my esophagus and I couldn't get it to go down or come back up.  My esophagus had spasmed around the meat and wouldn't let go. Ran around the house like a crazy woman trying to throw up and get it out.  Nothing worked. Scared hubby to death, hence ER visit.  Dr. said I need to get scoped.  That does not sound like a fun activity.

Do you have reflux?  My husband had the same thing happen.  He felt like he was having a heart attack.  We went to emergency room and he had to have his throat stretched out due to the build up from reflux.

Yes, I have severe acid reflux.  I have to get scoped and surgery is a possibility. They don't know if I have a buildup of scar tissue or a hiatal hernia or what. It hurt soooo bad!  I have had the same thing happen countless times before, only not to this degree.  This was much worse than ever before.  Poor hubby about had a coronary himself.  It took 30-45 minutes to get the food dislodged from my esophagus.
