Detox

Jul 23, 2008 08:53AM - 8 comments

Well I started a Detox Program today. I was given:
Green Tea Extract- used to fix headaches, body aches, poor digestion, but its main use is fighting free radicals in the body. Green tea contains high levels of polyphenols ( a bioflavonoid) and its also a rich source of EGCG (an antioxidant)

Vitamin D3 WOW!! There's a lot to this lil vitamin, I remember reading somewhere that the majority of cancer patients are deficient in this vitamin. This vitamin helps to protect us against cancer. To read more about it go here http://www.revolutionhealth.com/healthy-living/natural-health/natural-health-101/latest-research/vitamin-d-breast-cancer

S.A.T (milk thistle extract, Artichoke, Turmeric extract - protects liver function, stimulates and reginerates liver cells and supports liver function by providing antioxidants. Also Supports the immune system.

EPAmax (fish oil) - contains two kinds of essential fatty acids: eicopentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid. Omega-3 fatty acids support the heart by helping to maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Omega-3 fatty acids also provide protection and maintenance of the healthy function of the body's cell.

Curcumin Pro (antioxidant) helps decrease inflimmation.

Castor Oil pack, soak a flannel cloth 2-4 thickness, in castor oil. heat the pack in the oven on a cookie sheet at a low temperature (do not use the microwave) Apply pack to the area of the body (liver) you wish to treat.
Place sheet of plastic over pack (to prevent oil from ruining your clothes).  Place heating pad on top of plastic, and turn heating pad to med.
do this for 30 min 4x a day.
use a baking soda solution to cleanse your skin afterwards. (1 tsp baking soda to 1 pint water)
the pack can be stored in the refrigerator in a container. can be reused 20-25 times, after which it should be washed or dry cleaned.

indications include, liver cleansing, gall bladder inflammation, arthritis, chest colds, colitis and other intestinal disorders, closed infections, pelvic problems and other conditions. In otherwards it helps draw it all out lol. Heating pad is not advisable, I was told to use a hot water bottle.

as with anything consult a Dr before you take, my program is personalized and recommended by a natiopathy. This is my first day of Detox and i'll let ya know how it goes.

Have stage iv ovca, chronic recurrent. Am very interested in alternatives as I have been on chemo, chemo and more chemo since 2003. How did you get started ? Are you seen by a onoc-gyn ? Many questions would you mind answering ? Thanks, Withe

Hey withe, I went and saw a natropathy at cancer treatment centers of america. I am under the guidace of an obgyn/onc. As you may or may not know, cancer is caused by a build  free radicals.
My Dr suggested waiting until I was off of chemo (which I now am) before I tried the detox. I started researching it a little over a year ago, got a friend of mine that detoxes a lot she suggested two books to me. the 7 day detox miracle (got a bunch of great suggestions and information in there) and the second book called 150 healthiest foods on earth. another great book. So thats where I started.

I decided to go through a natropathy for several reasons, 1 it gave me a more personalized plan. and second of all because of the cancer. There are vitamins and other things out there that can reduce the risk of cancer recuring, helping to boost your immunity system etc.

The caster oil treatment sounds like it could be a big mess!  It could get ICKY for sure.
