my 12 mth old daughter was just diagnosed with erythematosis multiforme today. the doctors at the emergencey room said this is a rare skin condition that basicaly has no treatment. they said it would clear up on it's own within about two weeks. she seems to be allright other than running a low grade fever (99 to 100) but the rash is covering her entire body and has small bullseye like marks and also yellow pustules that bust when rubbed or bumped. i was ok with the information that the docs gave me until i got home and looked it up on the internet, and it seems that everything that lists it is linked to lupus. this frightens me a great deal because i know someone who had this. any information would be helpful, and i was wondering if i should seek a second opinion because they didnt even do any lab work or blood work or cultures to be completely sure. they said it is caused by a virus, and i just would like to know more because they were very short and quick to pass it off as not a big deal, but it is a very big deal to me. thanks.
