since my husbands diagnosis, I have had to pick up and do everything with no help. sleep is just fond memory for me now,
I lie awake now listening for everyone to be breathing
making sure my terrific 4yr old is and my husband too.
Does it get better or is this my lot in life?????

I'm sorry to read about your situation. It sounds really tough. Your family is really lucky to have you there to support them. It is always toughest at the start but you will find a rhythm that works soon.

I can tell you that it will get easier as time goes on. As always it's hard at first but as you settle in to your new way of living it gets better. I too, have to do everything so I know how trying and tiring it can get. Keep in touch.
